4BG have forest schools this half term - starting Thursday 21st April.
Summer Term 2022
Our topic for this term is Life in Britain in WWII. We will look at the outbreak of World War II and its impact on Britain. Children will understand the significance of the home front and how the role of women was adapted. We will look at the impact of food shortages via rationing and how the war ended.
In English, we will begin with writing an adventure story. We will base our story on 'Mission Possible' by Pi Corbett. We will then be moving onto letter writing and linking to the letters written home by evacuees.
Our Maths work will begin with work on angles, before moving onto area and perimeter. In Science our focus is Electricity.
Our 'Big Read' will be 'When the Sky falls' by Phil Earle
Mr Imber will be teaching you for outdoor PE each WEDNESDAY - Please come into school each week dressed appropriately in your blue T shirt, shorts and trainers. You may wear a plain, dark coloured tracksuit if the weather is chilly. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery worn.
Don't forget, you only need a very small school bag and pencil case. You must bring a named water bottle and a fruit/vegetable snack for break if you want one. As the weather gets colder, please make sure you have a warm, waterproof coat in school everyday.
Please make sure you are reading regularly at home and taking time to discuss what you have read. Practising times tables every day will really help you too.
In 4BG you will be taught by Mrs Basaras on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Gibson on a Thursday and Friday. We will have various TAs working in our class including Mrs Crosson, Mrs Daniel, Mrs Owens, Mrs Stevens and Mrs Radley.
