Macmillan coffee day!

On Friday we will be hosting a cake sale for the children and a coffee morning for parents and carers. Cake donations can be brought in from Wednesday 25th. A letter was sent out via Parentpay with more details. There will be two coffee sessions; 9am and 2:15pm. We also have a wonderful group of children who will be entertaining you with their singing.

Please help us to support this incredible charity.

PE

Indoor PE: Monday with Mrs Guesdon

Outdoor PE: Wednesday with Mrs Appleton

Children must come to school in their PE kits. Plimsolls will be needed on a Tuesday so may be left in school in a named carrier bag on their peg to change into (they will need to come to school in trainers for practical reasons eg. it could be wet break/lunch). Long hair must be tied back and no earrings/jewellery. Please remember to be mindful of the weather on Wednesdays and ensure they are dressed appropriately for outside - a plain dark tracksuit can be worn if cold.

🐝 Spelling Shed 🐝

Spelling Shed is now live for year one. Your child’s log in can be found in the back of their reading record. It is easiest to use the QR code. Assignments will be set on a Friday and remain available until the following Friday when the next ones are set. Spellings will consist of words with graphemes the children have already been taught, HRS (harder to read and spell words) and year one common exception words.

Spelling shed consists of games to reinforce phonics and spelling at home. Children earn points and develop from a grub into a worker bee until the ultimate success of being the queen bee! On the way they earn honey pots to spend on changing their avatar and the points not only inform progress but collectively join the class total points.
