Summer Term:

During the Summer term, we will be exploring our local area and will be looking into the history of South Woodham Ferrers. In English, we will be using the text 'Esio Trot' by Roald Dahl to inspire different genres of writing, including a narrative and non-chronological report. Maths will be filled with learning all about money, shapes and statistics. Pointillism and Impressionism will be our focus in Art and Science will begin with Light before we move onto Scientific Enquiry. Homework and Reading ✏️

Homework is set each week on Maths Shed and Spelling Shed. All children have log in details for these in their Reading Records. The children also have logins for Times Table Rockstars which they can use to support their learning. 

PE  🏸

Outdoor PE is on a Monday and indoor PE is on Tuesdays. Please send your child to school in their PE kit. Remember no earrings can be worn during PE lessons.

Times Table Rockstars Information

GARAGE – times tables set by the teacher

JAMMING – choose your own times tables to practise. You are able to select multiplication, division or a mixture of both. You can also choose the number of questions to answer. 

STUDIO – general practise to improve your ‘Rock Status’. It will also give you your average speed.

SOUNDCHECK – this activity will give the children 6 seconds to answer a random set of 25 questions. This is the speed they will need once they get to Year 4 so they may not be ready for this speed just yet.
