Summer week 11 w/b 6th July

Final Tadpole Diary

Hello children ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

I know it’s been a while since my last Tadpole update, but that’s because......they are still tadpoles!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I didn’t understand what was going on ๐Ÿค” and why they weren’t changing, so I have been doing some research. It turns out that if there are no predators (things that want to eat them, like fish) then tadpoles are in no hurry to change and can stay as tadpoles for up to a year! How incredible that they can control the speed of their changes.

So I have returned them to the pond where the rest are still tadpoles too. As there are no fish ๐ŸŸin my pond I think they are in no hurry to get on with changing into a frog, and will probably do it when I’m not looking later in the year.

I hope you enjoyed following them anyway and at least we got to see that little froglet ๐Ÿธ I shared with you a few weeks ago. I leave you with some photos and on tapestry a final video from the pond.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Hello children ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Our superhero this week is Music Man. ๐Ÿฆธ‍โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽตHe can change how he is feeling by using different genres of music.

๐Ÿ”นVariety

Different genres (which means styles) of music mean something different to each individual person. ๐Ÿ‘‚๐ŸปListen to lots of genres and find the one that makes YOU feel good. You could use your talking toy ๐Ÿงธ to talk about how the music made you feel.

RG you might remember the piano music I played when we did handwriting. We enjoyed that because it was calming and peaceful ๐Ÿ˜Œ. It was slow too which helped us relax, not to rush and to take great care with forming our letters.

๐Ÿ”นRemember

Just because a song makes one person feel happy, it might not make you feel happy too. That’s okay! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Everyone has different emotions.

๐Ÿ”นChallenge

Create your own playlist of songs that make you feel inspired and happy ๐Ÿ˜€. You could ask a grown up to save your playlist on a device to play or write them down so they are easy to find when you want to listen to them.๐ŸŽง

Maths

Hello children ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

This week’s maths is based on a great story that I’m sure lots of you know. The lessons we want you to do are building on skills that you have been working on over the summer term and will help you to be ready for year 1 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป.

Day 3 the lesson is adding more and we want you to write down the number sentence to go with each one. By number sentence I mean this: 5+3=8. It’s important that you can do this and form your numbers correctly. โœ”๏ธ

We look forward to seeing your work in school or on tapestry of you are home learning.

REMEMBER the asterisked lessons * are the ones that will be taught in school if your child is attending. Please do not repeat these at home if your child is coming to school. There are 5 lessons available online should you want your child to do more than these suggested 3 lessons. You can do the lessons in any order.

Day 2: Making simple patterns, exploring more complex patterns. (You can print the slides and draw for the patterns or use small toys/counters to make it practical. Paint required if you choose to hand print a dinosaur).

*Day 3*: Adding more. (For some children you may need to extend beyond adding one more. They could try adding two more and then increase)

*Day 4* Doubling, halving and sharing. (Dice)

Sports Week Activities - Red = warm up 60 sec challenge. Blue = Main activity

Dear Children, Parents and Guardians,

In addition to the activities sent by Mr.Thomas, the following activities are posted here and on your Tapestry on line journal. Hopefully you will have fun doing 1 red colour coded warm up called the 60 second challenge and 1 blue main activity each day, or when you have the time. These activities can all be adapted for your child and the space and resources that you have. We look forward to seeing how you get along and if you feel like creating your own 60 second or main activities it would be great to hear about those too. You can privately post your photos and videos (10 mins or less) on your Tapestry online learning journal to show us.

Have fun keeping fit,

Mrs.Wakeling, Mrs.Guesdon, Mrs.Adams and the EYFS team ๐ŸŒˆ

I hope that you will read with your grown ups and if you are able to use your maths skills to keep score of how you get on. You could post photos of how you get on and make up sports challenges of your own too. Mrs.W

PHONICS - This week’s sound is er. We will revisit all the sounds taught and tricky words too. Please use all the usual resources and websites and I will resource the sound for you by next week too. Mrs.W
