Boys Football

On Thursday 7th October, the year 6 boys played in the central venue league at William De Ferrers. They all played to a very high standard and won all three of their matches: 4-0, 3-0 and 2-0. Not only did they play well as a team but their behaviour was also impeccable. They will now play in the area final next Wednesday at William De Ferrers.

Congratulations to Billy, Riley, Alfie G, Kaiser, Jake, Freddie, Marshall, Harry W and Max T.

Girls Football

On Wednesday 20th October, the year 5 and 6 girls played in the first round of the football competition at William de Ferrers.  The girls all  played well and worked together as a team. It was great to see the girls enjoying the experience and we look forward to the next match.

Well done to Isla, Mollie, Millie, Darcey, Frankie, Mia, Betsy, Georgia, Maya and Poppy.

High 5 Netball

On Thursday 21st October, Year 6 took part in an interschool Netball competition. As a team they worked incredibly well together considering they had not even had time to play on a court! They encouraged and supported each other and made sure that those who were playing netball for the first time enjoyed their experience. They did so well that they made it through to the finals where they will play teams from other schools outside of South Woodham.

Well done to; Millie, Riley, Finlay, Esme, May, Rebecca, Annie, Lynnie-Kay and Mia.

Dodgeball Competition

Well done to our Year 6 dodgeball team who took part in a competition at William de Ferrers school on Thursday 4th November. The team worked well together, showing real team spirit and determination. After coming a close 2nd place, they are now through to the Partnership Final on 25th November. A special mention to Lenny who was presented with an honesty award during the game.

Congratulation to Betsy, Lynnie-Kay, Kaiser, Billy, Lenny, Harrison, Millie, Harry W, Jamie and Ryan.

Sports Hall Athletics

On Wednesday evening, 20 children from years 5 and 6 took part in the Sports Hall athletics competition held at William De Ferrers. There are a range of events such as javelin, standing long jump, chest push, speed bounce, team relay and obstacle relay race to name a few of the events. The children were outstanding and Woodville finished in second place and now move into the area final. They worked really well as a team and really spurred each other on. They were all a pleasure to take to the event.

Well done to Max T, Betsy, Frankie A, Billy, Jake, Kaiser, Riley, Lynnie-Kay, Poppy F, Theo, William, Talia, Freya, Amelia, Mollie, Oscar G, Isla, Noelie, Nancy and Hary O.

Ten Pin Bowling Event

A group of 8 pupils were selected to take part in a ten pin bowling competition on Thursday 11th November at Basildon Hollywood Bowling Centre. They competed against 18 other schools from across Essex. The team thoroughly enjoyed the event and all played extremely well. We are extremely proud of their behaviour and support for each other and how respectful they were during the two minutes silence for Remembrance Day. They were all awarded with medals and certificates.

Well done and congratulations to Jude, Rosie, Bluebell, Franklin, Joanna, Jayda, Joe and Jensen.

Archery competition (Wednesday 17th November)

On a bright sunny afternoon at Wickford Town Football Club, some of our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to take part in the very first inter school archery competition. They worked well together as a team supporting and encouraging each other. For some of the team this was their first experience representing Woodville and competing against other schools and despite some initial nerves, they performed well and showed real determination. We are extremely proud of them all.

Well done to Talia, Phoebe, Freya, Max, Nathan and Marshall.
