Boys Football Team
On Thursday 5th December, William de Ferrers hosted the second partnership football competition. For the first time, Woodville entered two teams. They boys from both teams played very well in all their matches. They worked hard for each other and produced some lovely passing movements which was a pleasure to watch. Woodville A finished joint first going unbeaten in all their games. Woodville B finished in 8th position and really improved in each match they played. Well done to all the boys involved, who played on a very cold night and all of them put in so much effort and didn't give up.
Year 6 Netball Team
On Thursday 28th November our school netball team took part in the first round of a netball competition at WDF against other local primary schools. We were very fortunate to be able to take two teams to this event.
Outstanding effort was shown from everyone and great team spirit especially in the last game where Woodville A and Woodville B played against each other!
Results - Woodville A 2nd, Woodville B 5th
Well done to Lenny, Ruby G, Annie, Jack, Tilly, Finlay, Edward, Sophie W, Alex, Ruby W, Gracie, Sophie P, Emily B and Presley.
Sports Hall Athletics
We participated in the Sports Hall Athletics on Thursday 14th November against other local primary schools. The events consisted of standing long jump, triple jump, chest push, javelin, vertical jump, speed bounce and a variety of running events including relay and obstacle relay. The team finished in third place, just two points behind second place. Well done for to everyone who took part at this event.
Inclusion Event
A huge well done to the pupils who took part in an Inclusion Event at WDF on Wednesday 13th November. They competed against eight other schools in three different events - Boccia, Kurling and sitting volleyball. All the children thoroughly enjoyed playing the various events. The team finished 8th overall in Boccia and 5th in the sitting volleyball. We are pleased to say that after finished 1st in Group B Kurling, Woodville played the winners of Group A in the final. It was a tense and tight game between both schools but we showed great determination and team spirit to become Overall Winners. Our team will progress to the County Final in March 2020.
Congratulations to Sophie SP, Jamie S, Ewan G, Katie M, Emily G, Jessica F and Joe F. We are extremely proud of you!
Dodgeball Competition
It was brilliant to see several pupils for years 5 and 6 representing the school for a dodgeball competition held at William de Ferrers School on Thursday 7th November. The pupils played 5 games in a mixed team against local schools. All our players demonstrated fantastic team spirit and determination. Well done!
Alex, Lenny, James, Henry, Abigail, Will, Fay, Teddy and Isaac.
Girls football competition
On Wednesday 16th October the girls took part in a football competition at WDF school. Due to the year 6 being on a school trip, years 4 and 5 played. They played amazingly well. They lost the first game 1-3, drew the second game 1-1, lost the third game 1-0 and drew 2-2 in their final game, despite being 2-0 down. The girls deserve a lot of credit and they were not intimidated at all.
Well done to Olivia, Fay, Poppy, Hollie, Darcey, Betsy, Izabelle, Wren and Savannah.
Year 6 boys football competition
Well done to the year 6 boys football team who finished 3rd place in the first round of the CVL at William de Ferrers School on Thursday 10th October.
MATCH REPORT
The first game was against Elmwood and they narrowly lost 1-0, conceding a goal late on in the game. The second match was against St Mary's B. The team played well and started passing the ball around well. They went on to win 2-0. The third match was against St Mary's A. Despite playing well and hitting the post, the match ended 3-1 to St Mary's. The final game was against St Joesph's and again the team played superbly and went on to win 1-0.
Well done to James, Owen, Will, Bradley, Teddy, Billy, Finlay, Thomas and Lenny.
