We are just through the tunnel and the traffic is heavy. We are hoping that we will be back just after six. I will update if there are any changes.
Well Friday is here and we have had a wonderful week. Adam celebrated his birthday at breakfast with a cake and singing from the whole hall! The children are suitably exhausted and looking forward to seeing you all. More challenges faced this morning with high ropes and quad biking. We are now waiting for our ferry and hope for a smooth crossing and journey home. We are expecting to be home by five (traffic permitting). We will let the office know when we stop at the services and give you an update. When we get back to school we would like to get all of the cases off first before the children. Could you please wait in the infant playground for your child so that we can make sure they have gone with the right people! See you in a few hours. Mrs B. X
Our last day 😔 We have had a wonderful day doing some more excellent activities. Children have surpassed themselves today pushing their own boundaries and doing things they never thought they could do. Fears of height and small spaces have been over come and the pride on the children's faces has been very emotional. Mrs Benefield and I have enjoyed having our hair plaited in the mornings(!) and the children have really enjoyed sharing jokes and silly stories with us. We had a wonderful beach fire tonight and the children were very reflective; thinking about all that they have achieved. We toasted marshmallows and sang songs as well as searched for the rare Isle of Wight blue rock. So many fantastic memories. Home tomorrow with stories to tell and a bag full of washing!
Wow what a scorcher! It has been another hot day here but rest assured the children are drinking plenty and have liberal amounts of sun cream! Some look like they have been abroad for a week! Excellent activities today including Giant Swing, Jacob's Ladder, Tunnel Trail, as well as lots more. So many children have faced many fears today, we are so proud of them. It has also been mentioned on many occasions to our PGL 'groupie' from other instructors how lovely our children are. They are working so well as a team and it has helped more reluctant characters achieve more than they thought they ever could. All the children are loving the food, they are eating so much! Yesterday we walked six miles just around camp so they need the reserves!! I hope you are enjoying seeing a snapshot of their adventure. More photos from today below...
Another beautiful day on the island. Sun is shining and the children are enjoying every second. All slept soundly and have enjoyed a hearty breakfast of porridge, cereal, bacon, beans, sausages, hash browns, tomatoes, toast...!!! Two groups were down at the water this morning canoeing while the others enjoyed aeroball and sensory trail...I'll let them tell you what they got up to there! Check the photos later to see what we have been up to. Lunch time now; baguettes, wraps etc etc....!
Beautiful afternoon. More excellent 'firsts' achieved for lots of children, today mainly fencing, aeroball or quad biking, so good to see the children working so well together and encouraging their teammates. We have all enjoyed a delicious dinner of either lasagne, fish fingers chips and beans or vegetable rogan josh with mushroom rice! The children are off doing 'robot wars' while I do this! Some very very tired children tonight! 😀👏
We had a lovely easy journey down to Portsmouth and stopped for lunch overlooking the water. There was even time to roll down the hill! Next stop, Isle of Wight!
