New Class Names
We are the Ladybirds!
Dear Parents and Children,
As you may know, the school has decided to name each class after something from nature. RWC are The Ladybirds and RT are the Squirrels. The children will soon know their new House name too, the plan is that they will be in the same house as any older siblings to make it more peaceful at home! This is so that we can award team points as well as stickers.
Forest School
Forest School will begin once we have received back all the permission letters, please return your letter asap, thank you.

Welcome to the classroom video
We hope that you are having a lovely school holiday and that you are looking forward to starting school in a few weeks time. Mrs.Clarke and I have been busy making the classroom ready and below is a short video so that you can see what our lovely room looks like. Since making this video we have put up some new displays too and updated your reading corner too.
We are both really looking forward to seeing you soon for your first short sessions.

Essex County Council Library services have a lovely and useful Webpage with games and activities for children in the Early Years. These promote sharing books, stories and developing lots of communication skills with your child or young children.
This site also gives a few tips about how to support your child as they are starting school.

Reading at home.
Reading is so important and you can continue to enjoy this with your child. Oxford Owl (link below) offers free ebooks to read for children aged 3-11, including ones we use at school such as the Biff Chip and Kipper books. The easiest way to search is by age. Some children may need age 3-4 and others 4-5. Please do not worry about the age range in terms of your child’s ability; they are all reading well and making progress but are naturally at different stages. The website also has other useful help with a parents guide to phonics, spelling help, activities, games and storyteller videos etc that you may wish to look at.
