Isle of Wight
We have had a variety of activities today where children have shown bravery and conquered fears. Trapeze, orienteering, team games and fencing being the highlights. Hannah who led a team games session today said that we have been the best group of children that she has ever taught! Tonight, we are going to the beach to have a campfire and toast marshmallows followed by an attempt to pack and tidy rooms. Tomorrow, we have one activity before leaving PGL at approximately 11am.
The children were all exhausted last night and every single one fell asleep by 10pm! We have had a very active day with much better weather thankfully. Aeroball, jacob’s ladder, quad biking and the sensory trail are just some of the activities that the children have participated in. We have had some wonderful comments from the PGL staff about how polite and well mannered our group are. Later this evening, the children will play a game of ‘SPLASH’ with water balloons. We will also attempt to write postcards.
Everyone has had a wonderful first full day, filled with lots of activities, such as: sailing, giant swing and an incredibly muddy tunnel trail. The rain hasn’t dampened spirits! We have seen fantastic team work skills and perserverance. We have had some delicious meals- meatballs being a favourite. Tonight, the children will be taking part in a Cludeo game with actors.
The children have either participated in archery, survivor or tunnel trail this afternoon followed by a delicious dinner and a doughnut! Showers have been had by some and now they are all solving puzzles in the ‘snapshot’ challenge. Everyone is ready for bed tonight especially the staff after this mornings early start.
We have arrived at PGL safely. The children are just taking part in their first activity this afternoon and have already unpacked their suitcases. There are lots of smiling faces - ready for a fun filled week!
I’ll add photos and a more detailed message soon.
