PE kit: please ensure that your son or daughter arrives in the correct kit every Monday. This includes: School logo PE T shirt and blue shorts if the weather is warm or School PE logo T-Shirt and a dark plain tracksuit or plain black leggings if the weather is cold. Children are wearing clothing with lots of logos and labels which is not part of our uniform policy.
Friday 25th September is non-uniform day in support of Macmillan cancer support. We would normally have a coffee morning but with current guidelines we are unable to do this so we have decided to collect a donation and ask the children to wear something green. The donation buckets will be on the gates as the children come into school. Thank you for your support.
***SQUARE NUMBER CHALLENGE!***
I have challenged the children to learn their square numbers up to and including 12x12. They will be asked these next Wednesday (23rd) in a random order! It is really helpful for children to know these as it helps with multiplication recall as well as having a good understanding of what makes a number 'square.'
I've attached pages to help in the links section.
In the folder marked 'Class Information', you will find our Meet the Teacher letter which we would normally hand out at the beginning of the year. Hopefully you will have all the information you need on there however should you wish to contact me you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please make sure you write in the subject box, who the email is for as both year 5 teachers will have access to this account.
I hope you and your children are settling back into school and I look forward to meeting you all at some point!
It is so lovely to have the children back in school today. They have all settled in very well and are very excited to be back with their fiends. We have talked at length about how we are going to keep ourselves safe and enjoy school. I have been very impressed with how sensible the children have been in this new normal. I will give you more information on the day to day running of the class but for now it is important to know when the children have PE as they will come in in their kit on those days. Monday is our PE day; please ensure the children are dressed appropriately for the weather. I would advise PE shorts and T Shirt underneath a dark, plain tracksuit and trainers. They can remove their tracksuit in school if they are too hot. Can I also ask that if your child is walking home on their own, I will need a letter giving permission. Children will not be allowed to leave the school grounds without this.
From Friday 4.9.20, Parents collecting children can do so from the classroom door as normal between 2:50 and 3:10. If you are collecting your child, please adhere to social distancing guidance. Parents are not permitted inside the school building at this time. If your child is walking home on their own, they will not be able to leave school until 3:10.Thank you for your understanding,
For now, welcome to year 5!
