Welcome to Woodville School

Class 4T

SORRY!!

Just an apology about homework set at the end of last week - We are very sorry if there was any confusion, it seems we are out of practice at setting the online tasks! It appears that the spellings may not have set on Spelling Shed and that the i.hub may have been set more than once. We will iron this out and try and do better this week . We will give the children time in school to use spelling shed this week too. We've explained to the children that even teachers make mistakes! (It probably won't be our last either!! ) Many thanks

Welcome to 4T's class page

Welcome back! I hope you have had a lovely summer break and I am looking forward to working with you.

Our topic for this term is Rainforests. We will be finding out about different trees, animals and areas of forest around the world. We will also investigate the impact of deforestation.

In English, we will begin with descriptive writing. We will be learning to use different descriptive language features and using our senses to help us describe settings. Our Maths work will begin with recapping and developing our number and place value knowledge before moving on to addition and subtraction. In Science our focus is 'living things and their habitats' which will link to our work on rainforests. In art we will study the work of Henri Rousseau.

Mr White will be teaching you for outdoor PE each WEDNESDAY - Please come into school each week dressed appropriately in your blue T shirt, shorts and trainers. You may wear a plain, dark coloured tracksuit if the weather is chilly. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery worn.

Don't forget, you only need a very small school bag and pencil case. You must bring a named water bottle and a fruit/vegetable snack for break if you want one. As the weather gets colder, please make sure you have a warm, waterproof coat in school everyday.

Please make sure you are reading regularly at home and taking time to discuss what you have read. Practising times tables every day will really help you too.

You can contact any member of the year 4 team on yearfour@woodville.essex.sch.uk

Please find below some activities that can be completed if required. I will add some more next week as well.

English Guided Reading

Research Project

Complete a research project on the Amazon Rainforest. Look at the layers of the rainforest, location, animals and species etc. Art can be linked with this as well - sketching, painting etc.
