As you are aware, our current block of Forest School sessions finishes this week. This means that we will be making some changes to our timetable after half term. From November 1st, 4BG will now have indoor PE on a Monday afternoon and children will therefore need to come to school in their PE kit each Monday. Outdoor PE will continue to be on a Wednesday. Plimsolls will be needed on a Monday. These may be left in school in a named bag on their peg to change into (Children will need to come to school in trainers for practical reasons). Long hair must be tied back and no earrings/jewellery please.

Welcome to Year 4
Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely summer break and we are looking forward to working with you.
Our topic for this term is Rainforests. We will be finding out about different trees, animals and areas of forest around the world. We will also investigate the impact of deforestation.
In English, we will begin with descriptive writing. We will be learning to use different descriptive language features and using our senses to help us describe settings. Our Maths work will begin with recapping and developing our number and place value knowledge before moving on to addition and subtraction. In Science our focus is 'living things and their habitats' which will link to our work on rainforests. In art we will study the work of Henri Rousseau.
Our 'Big Read' this half term is Amy Wild Amazon Summer by Helen Skelton.
Mr White will be teaching you for outdoor PE each WEDNESDAY - Please come into school each week dressed appropriately in your blue T shirt, shorts and trainers. You may wear a plain, dark coloured tracksuit if the weather is chilly. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery worn.
Forest Schools starts on Thursday 16th September. It takes place every Thursday afternoon until October half term. Please come to school dressed appropriately for outside activities. Forest Schools continues regardless of the weather!
Don't forget, you only need a very small school bag and pencil case. You must bring a named water bottle and a fruit/vegetable snack for break if you want one. As the weather gets colder, please make sure you have a warm, waterproof coat in school everyday.
Please make sure you are reading regularly at home and taking time to discuss what you have read. Practising times tables every day will really help you too.
In 4BG you will be taught by Mrs Basaras on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Gibson on a Thursday and Friday. We will have various TAs working in our class including Mrs Crosson, Mrs Daniel, Mrs Owens, Mrs Stevens and Mrs Radley.
