I can't believe we have finished our first half term of school. The children have had a fantastic first few weeks at school making new friends and building on existing friendships. They have been extremely busy learning lots of new things and I am sure they now need the half term holiday to rest and recuperate! Have a lovely half term!
The children have all settled into school extremely well and are enjoying the variety of learning activities we participate with during the day.
In maths we have been learning to recognise, count out and write our numbers to 10. Some children have even been able to work beyond 10 which is fantastic!
In phonics we have been learning our first set of sounds. We have learnt the sounds s,a,t,p,i,n,m,d,g,o,c,k,ck.
Keep checking your red sound books for the new sounds we learn each week. As the children start to blending sounds together to make words, more activities will be available to you to support your child at home.
All children now have reading books and reading record books that they are bringing home each day. We read and change reading books twice a week in school, please could you try to read each books twice at home or until your child is fluent with the book and remember to write a comment in the record books each time. Thank you
Below are some of the fun activities we have been enjoying in school.
If you have any queries or questions please remember to see Mrs Adams before or after school, thank you for your continued support.
